Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Excellent
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I have never heard of cipher and it sounds great
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
It's a pseudo 'all dun in one take' movie, isn't it? That's all I know about Rope, thanks to Mark Kermode.dng wrote: Fri Dec 17, 2021 8:55 pm Tonight's Hitchcock film was rope, which was like a sort of proto episode of Hannibal or something. It was good I liked it
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
That was also all I knew about it.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Another film article from me! This time I wrote about A Matter of Life and Death which was daunting, because it's perfect

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I've still never watched this for some reason despite everyone (you, hugh) telling me that i should
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I've watched it twice in the last week, thank you for maintaining the balance of the universe
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
That's a jolly good review, Vom!
And after reading it, I've just discovered that I've forgotten at least half of the films plot!

It doesn't deserve a score
It's like a group of children in business suits brainstormed a sequel and nobody told them no

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I’ve heard wildly conflicting things. To the extent I think I have to see it now.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Anyway I watched Tangerine yesterday, which might be my new favourite Christmas film. It’s one of those ones from a few years ago that was all shot on mobile phones but don’t let that put you off.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I watched Arthur Christmas, which is written by Peter Baynham for some reason
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Anyway, despite the entire premise of the film being that Arthur Christmas sounds a bit like Father Christmas, Father Christmas isn’t called Father Christmas at any point at all, ever, because Americans cannot comprehend Santa Claus having more than one name. So the films main joke doesn’t work at all, due to Arthur Christmas actually being called Arthur Claus

Best joke
Her father had been an engineer and she was also continuously 'playing with forbidden things', all of which contributed to her designated position.

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I thought the Arthur Christmas animated film was a spin off of the Arthur cartoon series.
It isn't.
Now I understand.

John Wick 3 - I quite liked the first john wick film, but I found this surprisingly tedious.
I haven't seen the second one

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
The first film should be called John Wick, the second, John Wick Wick, and the third, John Wick Wick Wick.
It's my system, and I'm sticking with it!

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I would have named them John Wick, John Xick, John Yick, John Zick

I go with reverse Gobliiins!: John Wick, John Wiick, John Wiiick
Her father had been an engineer and she was also continuously 'playing with forbidden things', all of which contributed to her designated position.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I liked the John Wick sequels. All the weird hitman world stuff is endlessly amusing to me, paying for absolutely everything with a single gold coin and all that shit
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I just thought whereas the plot of the first one was good (Keanu must kill every man in the world that killed his dog), the plot of this one (Keanu must kill every man in the world that didn't kill his dog) was much less good.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
John Wick to John o'Groats

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I got a 3 month subscription to mubi for a pound (I don't know if this is a general ofer or just because they wanted me to re-subscribe) and so today ii have been watching some films (mostly short films)
censor - recent horror film about 80s video nasties thats sort of like videodrome via berberian sound studio. this was good i liked it.
the bones - excecllent stop motion creepiness that pretends its the first ever stop motion film but isn't, obviously - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5RXOOXLwus
junior - short film about a school girl going through puberty/metamorphosis, directed by the woman that directed raw ands also starring the woman who was in raw. pretty good
babfilm (beanfilm) - 70s hungarian stopmotion film made from beans thats also on youtube. good - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ydbJCyIbIw
i like life a lot - anothe rhungarian 70s animation. in this one school kids anaimate and narrate stories from their life. genuinely incredible and i loved it (I can't find this on youtube unfortunately)
horse in the house - a third amazing 70s hungarian animation (also not on youtube, and there seems to be loads of other things with the same name, but it is this: https://mubi.com/films/horse-in-the-house )
shangri-la - a filipino woman in early 1900s america dreams of being allowed to spend time with the white american man she loves who she can't marry due to racism. then there's five minutes of her wearing clothes by miu miu because it turns out its an advert for miu miu, bafflingly. anyway, the bits which weren't an advert were good
also a few others i've forgotten now probably

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
